On Earth I’m Done: Mountains
29. October - Kl 19.00
30. October - Kl 19.00
In On Earth I’m Done: Mountains, the Swedish choreographer Jefta van Dinther tackles the question of how to be and stay in love with our ever-changing world.
After creating two large scale productions for Cullberg the past years, Jefta van Dinther returns to the company as an associated artist (2019-2022) to create two new works. First out is On Earth I’m Done: Mountains, a collaborative solo work with dancer Suelem de Oliveira da Silva, performed by Agnieszka Sjökvist Dlugoszewska.
As human beings, we are perpetually haunted by our own implication in the nature-culture bind. In Mountains, van Dinther tackles the question of how to be and stay in love with our ever-changing world. Through an expulsion of words, both familiar and foreign, the performer on stage acts as a conduit, revelling, lamenting and ranting on behalf of others. Her being unravels in the nexus between the physical, biological and anthropological – between gravitational forces, instinct and desire.
Jefta van Dinther (SE/DE) is a choreographer and dancer, based in Berlin. He grew up in Sweden, after which he moved to the Netherlands and graduated from the Amsterdam School of the Arts (MTD) in 2003.
