Thomas Voll

Thomas Voll (1988) graduated from Skolen for samtidsdans (The school for new dance) in Oslo in 2010, and started to work as a freelance dancer the same year.
Today Thomas works as a dancer and choreographer, mostly with his own works as Thomas of Norway. His artistic practice often investigates social taboos where sensitive topics, which often remain unsaid, are given a theatrical expression. Thomas is  inspired by the idea of society’s silence and how we look at each other, and how we value our individual and common existence. Movements are often detailed and intense, and he finds it interesting to challenge both the physical body of the performer and the energy between performer and observer.

Currently, Thomas is working on his next performance named Holding Position. This is a duet that investigates experiences with grief and loss and is planned to premiere this autumn.

Thomas is currently based in Hadsel in Vesterålen, Northern Norway.
