We Should All Be Dreaming – The power of speculation

We invite you to a day of dreaming of possible futures at Furuset bibliotek og aktivitetssenter 22. april 2022.

How to dream of futures that we don’t know yet how to dream of?

 

The day consists of two parts.
The program starts with an afternoon miniseminar with the theme intersectional feminist horizons. We will discuss questions around the vitality of speculation, intersectional practices as well as future horizons.

Approx timings:
– 12.00: Arrival, welcome with coffee and tea
– 12.30-13.00: Keynote presentation with Michelle Tisdel
– 13.15-14.00 Panel discussion with Nikita Amber Abbas, Tuula Sharma Vassvik and Duduzile Mathonsi with moderator Harmeet Kaur
– 14:15–14:30 Introduction or provocation with Thomas Talawa Prestø
– 14.30-15.30 Group discussions
– 17.00-19.00: Film and book table available in library

The second part of the day has the title We Should All Be Dreaming – a soft gathering. During the evening session Sonya Lindfors and guests host a performative gathering where participants are invited to spend time together, listen together, discuss together and dream together.

– 19.00-22.00 DJ, soup-serving and short performances by slamp poet Jeaninne Masika Harrysson and dance artist Ornilia Ubisse

WSABD is a collaboration between Cameroonian – Finnish choreographer Sonya Lindfors and Somali writer and activist Maryan Abdulkarim who both are interested in decolonial dreaming practices.
