Dansens Hus

17. October - Kl 18.00

As an artist what is it that you wish to share with the spectator? Are you providing a little or a lot of information? What are you trying to achieve – do you want to communicate the meaning of the work or, to the contrary, allow it to remain undefined? Radouan Mriziga plays continuously with the spectator’s perspective and expectations in this 55-minutes long solo, his first full-length choreographic work.

Mrziga assigns himself a series of tasks which he carries out, and in so doing puts himself in an increasingly more complex situation.

Movement in the broadest sense of the word has always interested Radouan Mriziga. He is Moroccan, with dance training in part from his native Morocco, in part from France and Tunisia. In Belgium he studied at P.A.R.T.S. / Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker. Since 2008 he has been based in Brussels, and in 2014 he was artist-in-residence at the Moussam Nomadic Arts Centre, where this solo piece was created. 55 premiered at the KAAI Theater, Kaaistudios, in December 2014.
