Dance history

The Norwegian branch of NOFOD – Nordic forum for dance research, invites interested parties to a national seminar inspired by the theme of the CODA festival for 2011, PAST PRESENT – Age in Dance. The seminar will focus on dance history and dance history-related issues.

The seminar is for NOFOD members, students, dance artists and others with an interest in the theme. The seminar will include the presentation of papers, of art projects, artistic development work and research and development work.

Scheduled contributors currently include Anne M. Fiskvik, Diane Oatley, Kristin Næsh, Sidsel Pape, Margrete Kvalbein, Tine Ørbæk, Sigrid Svendal and Tonje Fjogstad.

NOFOD is a non-profit organization that promotes collaboration between dance scholars and practitioners. This it does by arranging seminars and conferences as well as spreading information through discussions, performances and publications on dance. The purpose of the organization is to enhance, empower and bring together diverse forms of dance research, knowledge and practice especially in the Nordic context.
