BONA FIDE
Bærum Kulturhus
18. October - Kl 18.40
The performance can be experienced in advance of NEXT at Bærum Kulturhus on October 18th.
Dance collective B16 presents a commissioned work created in collaboration with one of the world’s best hip-hop dancers.
“B16 (Bydel 16) is our place, it’s our neighborhood. There, we make all the rules,” says Amie Mbye, founder of the phenomenon B16, a dance collective consisting of 20 melanin-rich dancers, actors, singers, poets, and writers between the ages of 16 and 32.
The collective aims to create safe spaces for young art enthusiasts and expand the horizons of what and who is represented in the dance field in Norway.
During CODA, B16 showcases an excerpt from a brand-new showcase created in collaboration with Niki Tsappos, a well-known figure in the international dance scene. In 2010, Tsappos won the world’s largest Street Dance competition in Paris. It was the first time two girls had won the entire competition and could be titled as the world’s best hip-hop dancers (regardless of gender).
“BONA FIDE” is a commissioned work initiated by Panta Rei Danseteater with its world premiere at the outdoor festival DiggFest in August.
