Dancing in public spaces
The Norwegian National Opera and Ballet
21. October - Kl 15.00
Dancers in public spaces: Do you want to participate? Based on improvisation and movements that are easily recognizable by the audience, the performances “Hands On/Off” by Katrine Kirsebom, “If One Keeps Walking” by Hagit Yakira, and “(Un)touched” by Angela Woodhouse will take place in the public space. All three performances apply intimacy, touch, gaze, and involvement to make the audience something more than just a passive participant.
The choreographers, artists, and audience meet in a discussion on the implications of dancing in the democratic public space and what it takes to move an audience who simply stumble upon the performance. The discussion takes place at The Norwegian national Opera & Ballet in connection with the performance (Un)touched, which is performed in the foyer.
