MEETING
Dansens Hus
26. October - Kl 18.00
MEETING is a dance and sound performance for 2 dancers and 64 percussion robots.
MEETING reveals a fascination with the language that arises when both body and mind are in motion. A choreographic study stripped to the bare essentials, the work pairs Antony Hamilton’s compulsive choreography with Alisdair Macindoe’s obsessive machine-making practice. A relentless flow of activities unfold in which the performers reach heightened mental and physical states to the meditative and mechanical rhythms of the robots. The performance takes on the character of a focused recital where the composition consists of the body, the space and the robots in a dynamic and captivating choreographic sound installation.
Hamilton and Macindoe are both trained dancers and have made a strong mark both together and invidually at home in Australia and internationally. MEETING premiered 2015 in Australia and has been performed in Germany, the Netherlands, Finland, France and England to rave revues.
