Merzouki gives us a show at the crossroads of arts, in which reality and illusion are flustered. Thanks to the 3D effects of digital artists Adrien M & Claire B, the movements of hip-hop dance mixed with circus arts find a new playground. In this universe in perpetual motion, the exalted gesture is constantly challenged, to better find itself. Amar’s musical creation reinforces the show’s lyricism, like a gentler invitation to this journey.
Pixel makes the audience travel and dream, but also surprises through the unique confrontation of hip-hop and digital arts, and through the poetical aspects of hip-hop dance.
A major figure on the hip-hop scene since the early 1990s, Merzouki works at the crossroads of many different disciplines: he adds circus, martial arts, fine arts, video and live music to his exploration of hip-hop dance. Without losing sight of the roots of hip-hop movement this multidisciplinary approach opens new horizons and reveals original outlooks.
