Reisen

Reisen is a trio choreographed in 1989 by one of the nestors of Norwegian choreography, Kjersti Kramm Engebrigtsen.
The production is revived in celebration of the choreographers 50th anniversary as dance artist in 2017, and is representative of the movement language of the 90s and 80s and Norwegian ballet history. On one level, the ballet is a portrayal of the existential inner journey that is the lives of humans; more specifically it is about the journey the refugees of the world are forced to take. Regrettably, the theme is considerably more current today than almost 30 years ago. The music was a commission and was written by percussionist Gilles Obermeyer.
