Christine Gaigg is from Austria and now lives in Vienna where she works as freelance choreographer. She has a Ph.D. in philosophy and studied dance at the School for New Dance Development in Amsterdam.
In 1994 she established 2nd Nature Dance Group. Since 1995 Christine has been working together with the Austrian composer Max Nagel in several productions.
Sacre Material was created for Tanz2000.at and opened ImpulsTanz 2001. For this she received the Austrian Dance Production Prize. Several of her productions have toured in Europe. Christine Gaigg has, in collaboration with the composer Bernhard Lang, developed the project TRIKE which was premiered in Theater am Neumarkt in 2005.
Christine Gaigg teaches in composition and since 1996 she is a lecturer for performance theory at the University of Vienna.
