Children as professionals

Children as working professionals in the arts − is this a contradiction in terms? A number of art projects in recent years have included children as active participants. How do we view the role of children in different types of art projects?

Is it possible to compare the contributions of children to that of professional artists? How do we understand professionalism in such a context?
