Four women, many stories and a huge mirror. It is the simple stories that are told, the everyday things, that are so important but nonetheless invisible when the official history is to be written. The stories are the personal narratives of women from the families of or with close ties to the performers in the production. These intimate and contemporary, universal stories are told by women from different generations through both the soundscape and the dancers on stage.
Panta Rei Danseteater collaborates once more with the British composer Nathaniel Reed, who creates music that is melodious and full of atmosphere. I wish her well is intricate, incorporating acrobatic elements, contact work and a high tempo. A production that moves and engages.
In connection with the premiere of I wish her well, musician Samsaya will be performing with DJ Purpurr Purple as welll as youth from Nordre Aker and X-Ray Youth Culture House will be performing results from dance- and music workshops during the festival.
Panta Rei Danseteater (PRD) was founded by Anne Holck Ekenes in 2000. Ekenes holds a Master of Arts in choreography, dance for camera and performance from the Laban Centre London. Pia Holden has studied dance in Gothenburg and New York. She began working with PRD in 2005 and has since then both danced and produced choreography for the company. PRD’s artistic objective is the creation of dance theatre productions that appeal to a broad audience. The company has been on tour in Tanzania, Russia, Jordan, Palestine, England and Norway.
