Overstått eller nært forestående (Belated or imminent)
Dansens Hus
25. October - Kl 17.00
26. October - Kl 17.00
Overstått eller nær forestående (Belated or imminent) came out of the encounter between the two dancers Marianne Kjærsund and Erik Rulin.
The singular dynamics and forceful expressivity, the differences and similarities between the dancers, has been a source of inspiration for the choreographer. Composer and musician Tov Ramstad performs an especially commissioned work for cello.
A game of femininity and masculinity plays out in the performance, where woman and man are equal. The game plays out across genders and deals with the underlying motivations for masculine and feminine mentality, emotionality and actions from an inner, psychic landscape as opposed to outer markers or signals as we know them from cultural and social contexts.
The title Overstått eller nært forestående (belated or imminent) points to something disconcerting, a sense of insecurity that can also be phrased like this: Has something happened or is something about to happen? How do we relate – man or woman – to the world we live in, a world constantly in flux, with threats of various kinds? How do the changes influence our subconscious? How do we cope with uncertainty, separately and in concert with each other?
The performance will be shown with Terje Tjøme Mossiges Ved siden av. Both the performances are trios with two dancers and a musician on stage. Ved siden av (Next to) is shown first, followed by a 20 minute interval before Overstått eller nært forestående.
