SOLOS

Dansens Hus

18. October - Kl 19.00

Susanne Linke is one of Germany’s most influential dancers. She unifies the heritage from German pre-war Ausdruckstanz with contemporary German dance theater and her own signature statement. In the production SOLOS Susanne Linke and the dancers Urs Dietrich and Tsai-Chin Yu perform a selection of four solo pieces: From the classic Bade wannen (1980), via Wandlung (1978) (Transfiguration), a piece dedicated to her teacher Mary Wigman, and Flut (1981) to the more recent work Kaikou-Yin (Transmigration) (2008), the selection high lights the development and range of Linke’s rich repertoire.

Susanne Linke received her education from Mary Wigman before studying at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen. From 1970-1973 she was a dancer at the Folkwang Tanz Studio with the Artistic Director Pina Bausch. At the same time she developed her own first choreographic works. In the beginning of the 1990’s she founded Company Susanne Linke. Together with her partner Urs Dietrich as co-director she headed the Bremer Tanztheater from 1994-2000. In 2000-2001 Linke was a foundation member and designated Artistic Director of the Choreographic Centre Essen. Since 2001 she has been working as independant choreographer again and worked for prestigious Companies worldwide. In 2007 Susanne Linke was awarded the German Dance Prize. In 2008 Linke was named L’officier de l’orde pour les arts et des lettres by the French cultural ministry.
