Welcome to a guided sauna and listening experience focused on the female sex/uality, pleasure and change.
The all female artist collective invites women of all ages to a sauna ritual with soundscore of intimate stories during this year’s CODA festival.
Audience participates in a collective sauna in 4 rounds – each round accompanied by a soundtrack of stories about female sex/uality. The exciting, surprising and inspiring stories came from women of all ages from different countries.
A collective comprised of Canadian dance artist Meagan O’Shea and the sisters Liv Hanne and Anne Katrine Haugen, founders Haugen Productions in Tromsø, with composer Charo Calvo, are behind the initiative. Haugen Productions creates performances that combine documentary and fiction, aiming to bring everyday life into theater – and theater into everyday life.
‘STEAM’ is a continuation of the collective’s stage performance ‘XwomXnseX’, praised by the critics. ‘XwomXnseX’ focuses on the diverse relationships women have with sexuality and change. As part of their artistic research, the collective organized sauna sessions in Tromsø, inviting fellow females from different countries at various stages of life, to share their own stories of sensual surprises and discoveries.
Join in and absorb the heat of the sauna stories and let your sweaty body become part of a sensual, uplifting, and energetic women’s collective.
The ’STEAM’ concept premieres at this year’s CODA festival.
