Marie Rechsteiner

Marie Rechsteiner is a Norwegian contemporary dancer and choreographer, based between Trondheim and Berlin. She graduated from University of Stavanger in 2012 with a Bachelor in dance and has since been working as a dancer in various projects and collaborations, as well as creating her own work. As a performer she has worked with, among others, Malin Bülow, Cirka Teater, Benoit Maubrey, Raffaella Galdi, Yan Leiva, Christian Falsnaes og Alexandra Pirici and has been part of the artistic collaboration Yngvesson/Rechsteiner. She is since 2014 part of the studio collective and production space Garage – Atelier für Kunst und Tanz, Berlin. In her own work she is interested in interdisciplinary practices where movement is combined with sound art and video projections, often in a site-specific context. In addition, her work often deals with socio-political issues and how these manifests themselves through our bodies and can be communicated through movement.

Marie Rechsteiner is a part of Creative Lab 2020-2021.
