From visualization to tactilization

The Norwegian Opera & Ballet

13. October - Kl 13.30

The choreographer behind ‘Cosmetic Demons: A Choreographic Salon’ invites you to a workshop exploring the physical, energetic, and curious body.

During a two-hour workshop, Sindri Runudde invites participants to enter their choreographic practice – a world of exploration, including mirroring, interpretation, fantasizing, multitasking, and tactilization. The term “tactilization” originates from a previous work, ‘A SensOral Lecture’, where Runudde replaced visualization with tactilization; a way to let the imagination, combined with the touch of actual and concrete things, form the basis for movement and presence in one’s own body.

Runudde lives with visual impairment and has developed numerous curious methods and strategies for maneuvering the body, both alone and with others, bringing these experiences into concrete dance practices. The various tasks will serve as a basis for discussions around perception, attention, and sensation. The workshop will be accessible to dancers with various disabilities and different backgrounds.

Practical information:

The workshop will take place at Stage 2 in the Opera House, located in the bottom left corner of the foyer when you enter through the revolving doors.

Registration starts at 1:00 PM.

Unfortunately, there are no changing rooms available, so we ask participants to arrive already changed. Bags and outerwear can be brought into the room, and the foyer restrooms are available for use.
