A CHOREOGRAPHIC CONCERT BY SASHA WALTZ AND MARK ANDRE WITH MUSIC BY WOLFGANG AMADEUS MOZART
Choreographer Sasha Waltz collaborates with French composer Mark Andre on this choreographic concert, which premiered in Salzburg in 2012. The title Gefaltet is a reference to the phenomenon of folding, employed in this work exploring interactions of classical with modern music, sound with movement and silence. The musicians’ involvement in development of the material represents the crossing of a new frontier for Waltz.
Sasha Waltz founded Sasha Walz & Guests with Jochen Sandig in 1993. 2000−2005 she was a member of the artistic direction for Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz Berlin, where her classic work Körper was created. She is one of the most prolific choreographers in Germany today.
