JAM

A pop-up outdoor performance that explores and challenges the boundaries between dance as art and social activity, based on club – and street dance culture.

JAM can be defined as something between performance and jam, and will during 2023 be shown in several places outdoors and in public spaces in Oslo. During this year’s CODA, nine dancers with connections to club/street dance will work with the natural currents found at Jernbanetorget and at Nasjonalmuseet. They want to reach an audience that has no intention of watching dance.

JAM can be experienced close and far away, for ten seconds or 40 minutes. The audience can choose whether they want to watch or participate.

JAM wants to define street dance as an art form, without necessarily applying methods from dance genres created for the stage. Experience the dancers in new places during this year’s CODA.
