Norwegian platform: The DEN 2023

CODA Oslo International Dance Festival invites you to the Norwegian Platform: The DEN, for the third time.

How are performances created in Norway perceived in an international context? Is there a distinct ‘Norwegian’ perspective? What funding opportunities exist for touring and cultural exchange?

Throughout the festival, we extend invitations for presentations and discussions involving artists, curators, producers, and the audience. The DEN 2023 encompasses seven full-length performances (solo and medium-sized group pieces), three outdoor performances, seven 10-minute studio showcases, and 15 pitch presentations.

The program is curated by CODA, in collaboration with Dansens Hus, Bærum Kulturhus, Riksscenen, and Black Box teater, with support from the Performing Arts Hub Norway.

Background:

The DEN was initiated by CODA in 2018, involving five festivals and five venues, in partnership with Dans og Teatersentrum. The project received support over a three-year period from the Norwegian Arts Council and the City of Oslo. In 2023, CODA has continued the platform without new financial support, but with the collaboration of Dansens Hus, Bærum Kulturhus, Riksscenen, and Black Box teater, supported by the Performing Arts Hub Norway.
